Omega was named after the final letter in the Greek alphabet and is deservedly one of the most famous marques in horology. With a rich and continuing heritage, the Geneve is named after the fact that their watches did so well during tests at the Geneva Observatory. It was aimed at the younger market and usually had sportier designs and came at a more affordable price point even as it used the same exact movements of their upper-end of the product line. This huge rectangular Geneve is doubly apt as the blue dial has shifting Geneva stripes that glimmer in certain opposite ways when the light hits it.
